YKR Holds Its First Sports Fest April 30-May1, 2009.
YKR held it’s first Sportsfest under the leadership of Arnel Pañares, YKR South V-chairman and Omar Teleblanco, YKR Central V-chairman. There were 144 registered athletes and was attended by more or less 200 young people from central and south. Most churches from the north did not make it there due to the distance. YKR South hosted it this year and it was held at RisenLordChristianSchool, Bulacao. But the activity was generally good and has produced champions out of our youth. Please check news article and pictures about this at www.friendster.com/youthkeepers.
One Barangay Sees God’s Glory Come Down May 7, 2009.
YKR South made its first evangelism exposure to young people. About 60-70 YKR members joined the program to reach more souls in Tanke, TalisayCity. They created an open air crusade in the Barangay plaza, with musical bands, film, preaching and healing. A good number of crowd attended, about 500 of them. God performed miracles by holding the sky from rain after we publicly prayed; and instant healing miracles took place in our very own eyes. Wish you were there to witness them. But there were people who testified that they were instantly healed by the power of God. As soon as we make the videos and pictures ready we will be posting actual testimonies of miracles on the website.
Revival Flame Reignited May 24, 2009.
YKR celebrated its 1st anniversary at GV Tower Hotel, CebuCity with over 200 in attendance from YKR Central and YKR South. The event was graced with the presence and inspirational talks from God’s Word by two YKR special friends: Miss Rhea Janice Go, COO of Prince Warehouse Club, Inc., a family owned chain of Supermarkets; and Mrs. Jesusa Ferguson, a business lady based in Bahamas. Other guests included Pastor & Mrs. Len Hummel, missionaries under Clear Light Ministries; Pastor Ed Kiamco, Chairman of LEIC; Julie M. Detalo, VNBC President; Myna, Principal of Catbalogan High School; Pastor & Mrs. Apollo Malait, Worshiping Without Walls Ministry, and many other pastors and church leaders. The celebration was highlighted by the messages shared by the two speakers on the theme: “Fan the Flame”. Towards the end of the program Pastor Ed Kiamco called all the officers from both Central and South in front and asked the whole assembly to pray and bless the leadership of YKR. It was not just a celebration of the first one-year successful operation but also a launching of YKR’s another year of challenge.
Included was the introduction of the new YKR campus ministry through the “Indescribable” Film Campus Tour. There are new heights to climb, new territories to conquer, and new frontier to expand. Let us all pray and plan to grow and expand until we see the dawn of our vision for revival come to reality in this generation and beyond. Mabuhay ka Panginoon ng YKR!
New YKR Forum Website Opened
A new YKR website has been opened on http://ykr.activeboard.com under the leadership of IT Manager, Jhouel Sam Sidney just this month. The website is designed for young people to interact, post comments, ask questions, post advertisements, read devotionals read clean jokes and see announcements and updates. The manager says that if YKR gets sponsor for the web that will cost P300-400/month YKR can have the full name www.youthkeepersrefuel.com, that is minus the name activeboard. That is not to mention other benefits like our site can open for live teleconferencing (live chatbox) and discussions on line. Let us pray that God will equip us with resources to do it and while we are not there yet that God will use somebody to assist us on that need. Let us use the internet for the good and keep our youth busy for things that are godly and beneficial to their lives and future. We can do this together!
YKR Indescribable Film Tour Visits Samar and Leyte May 26-31, 2009
. “It was amazing! Glorious experience!” This is just but limited description of God’s mighty doing through the films “Indescribable” and “How Great is Our God” by Louie Giglio. For there are hardly enough words to say when God truly moves. The YKR team together with the Radiance Band from VisayanNazareneBibleCollege, Cebu conducted a two-day open air crusade in the townPlaza of Salcedo Eastern Samar, one of the most economically depressed town in the country with majority of the people strong loyalists of the Roman Catholic church. Aside from the films the two-night event was highlighted by the testimonies of Mrs. Susan Ferguson (Bahamas), songs of a professional recording Artist, Marites Loste Kabanciat (Manila), and evangelistic message by Brother Joel Detalo Jr. (Cebu). One should note that the two ladies mentioned are natives of that town and while Bro. Joel was not born in Salcedo yet it was there where he spent his childhood until Grade 4. It was not just reunion for them but a come back to the town that molded their childhood. On the first day of the crusade only eight people signified to pray the sinners’ prayer and received Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. On the second day however, the number rose to thirty eight, sixteen signified for a home Bible study and twenty four says they want a Bible study material. I think it is not our task to judge whether they prayed genuine prayer or not, ours was just to sow the seed. But I saw the Lord moving in those gatherings. It has been raining on the area those days but God was so good in holding the rain during our crusades that on those two nights rain came just few minutes after the program. On the 30th, Saturday, I slipped from Salcedo to Tacloban to show the “How Great is Our God” film to the Worldwide Church of God Church gathering at Leyte Park Hotel, Tacloban. There were about 40 pastors and leaders in that assembly and the film was just very apt on their conference’s topic on parenting.
The Salcedo plaza evangelistic crusades were followed up by a series of revival nights in the Church of the Nazarene of that town. God has moved wonderfully. There were some spirit of resistance at first but there were few responsive people seeking God in the altar on the nightly services. On the 31st of May, Sunday morning on the climax of the revival services, people were just so responsive that when the call to go to the altar was made to pray for recommitment, passion to serve God, special needs, healing, people just automatically flood their way to the altar, praying, crying for more of God and his presence. The glory of God was just so obvious on that moment. The revival service ended about 1:15pm on that day yet people were still in high spirit of worship. God has answered our prayer and God has revived the church! Hallelujah! Let us pray that the revival spirit will keep burning not only during the revival services but even today until the day of the Lord!
Note and review for YKR “Indescribable” Film Tour:
“Indescribable”, is a documentary film narrated (preached) by Louie Giglio recorded at Houston, Texas, a one stop of the 27-city Indescribable Tour by Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin and Matt Reddman. The film displays a series of images of the grandeur of the outer space, pictures of galaxies and others like we have never seen before, mostly taken by the Hubble space telescope. Louie has his own very creative and powerful way in presenting the Gospel through these that people watching will not only be stunned of the beauty of the outer space but will also see the glory of indescribable God who created them all. The material is very excellent to both believers and unbelievers. Watch it and expect to be moved!
“How Great is our God”,
is the next volume of the Indescribable film. Louie here talks about the sizes of the stars that reveal the size and glory of the God who created them. He goes on to talk about the fact the God who breeze out stars and calls them each by name is the God who is big enough to get familiar of every circumstance we met in this life. He illustrated it by looking on the human body highlighting an adhesive molecule called “laminin” forming the cross of Jesus Christ. This film is absolutely stunning, awesome and a very artistic way of Gospel presentation. You’ll be carried away. Don’t ever miss it. Both Films can be ordered online on www.268generation.com. YKR got a written permit from the organization of Louie Giglio to show the films wherever there are doors open provided they are shown via original DVD. We want to thank Pastor & Mrs. Len Hummel for making ways for us to acquire the original copies and Mrs Jesusa Ferguson for the reserved copies with some financial help for this project. Thanks also to Alexis Gaisano, Rhea Janice Go, Celeste Ong, for their endorsement of these films. We wish to saturate all the colleges and universities of Cebu with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through this films. Please pray with us that as we wage war in the spiritual realm we will be able to advance God’s kingdom in every way possible. In all these may God’s name alone be glorified!
