YKR Guys please give us feedback as to what do you think about this idea: we plan to have YKR youth congress this coming December 28-31, 2009. This will be a convergence of all youth keepers from all over and the Student Keepers from every campus. We checked Hidden Paradise Resort at San Fernando Cebu yesterday with JL, Marvyn & Nadine. The place is what every youth would desire to visit & stay. They have 3 main swimming pools, zip line, fish pond, mountain trekking, volleyball and basketball courts, air conditioned accommodation, etc. As it is a resort, the cost is hotel rate. But since the owner is a Christian she gave me a special deal of P500/person/day considering our level as young people mostly coming from independent churches. That is P1500 for each camper. It already includes food and access to all features in the Resort. This is not a final deal yet and I am needing feedback from all of you at the soonest possible time. That price will already entitle us to enjoy a resort stay, which we cannot find anywhere.
If you think we can "by faith" afford this please let me know. Otherwise we will settle in another place. Other options are Young Life Camp, Compostela & VNBC, Cebu. The cost of these camp site is more or less P100-150/person/day excluding food. Including food our resgistration may reach P500-700 if we take the latter option, and of course these are not resorts.
Those who wish a Survivor type of Camp with tents and self-cook system: we will do that on Summer. Every year YKR will host 2 main activities: December Congress and Summer Camp. Congress will be more of leadership training on how to expand the vision of YKR throughout the year. We will have opportunity to be mixed in a group with young people coming from different churches, schools and organizations. On summer camps, we will be grouped by church and by school. This is to develop the bonding in our local churches and schools for the ministry of YKR.
