To: All YKR Members From: Joel D., YK Director RE: 2010 Philippine Presidential Election
This is to inform everybody ahead, before the campaign period that YKR is not a political movement and therefore can't be use for this end. We believe in righteous governance and social resposibleness of every citizen in the country but would want to stand as separate entity from any politically inclined organizations. We share the vision of a better Philippines but we believe that God will channel the solution through the church of a truly prosperous country. Therefore we will do everything we can to promote nationalism, registration of all bonafide voters, responsible selection of candidates, watchful and vigilance on the election process, active voice for youth social concerns, and respect and acceptance as to whoever wins in the election contests. But we will refuse to endorse anybody for any position.
If there are among our ranks who will choose to be active in campaigning for a particular candidate, it will an individual option not in behalf of YKR. YKR will remain a neutral and unifying entity for all political doctrines & personalities, denominations, differing opinions in politics and the like. Our interest is to unite the body of Christ, not for a political figure but for the cause and prayer of national revival. We believe that when God visits a nation in a mighty wave of revival, all the rest of national concerns can be taken cared of. Even if the elected president is not a Christian, when revival is "on" the probability is high that he will become one.
Therefore reminder to all YKR members: 1. Go out and register. 2. Have your personal research for the best candidate. Have your own stand. God has given us enough brain so that we can think and vote wisely. Your vote is just one, but a million can't be million without one. 3. You may promote somebody during the campaign period but it must not be in behalf of YKR. We all need to participate and be involved. However do not be motivated with money instead let your love for God & nation, good reason and principles prevail. 4. Let's pray and fast for the coming election, not for a particular candidate but for this nation to be delivered from its sickness of spiritual dryness, poverty, corruption, idolatry, etc. 5. Let's be vigilant in making the election truly honest, fair and peaceful. Let's volunteer and get involved. Maybe you can volunteer to be watcher during the election. 6. After the election, when all ballots have been counted, let us plan to give due respect and reverence to all elected candidates. Romans 13 tells us to give due respect to those people in authority.
Our theme for the 2010 election is: MAGPAKABANA! Register and Vote wisely!
